5 tips to get your business ready for Click Frenzy Mayhem. It’s not too late!
Given we’re almost halfway through the busy 2022 calendar year, you’d be forgiven if the Click Frenzy Mayhem promotional campaign has been the last thing on your mind. However, if you feel like you’ve missed the boat it’s not too late to get involved and give yourself a head start to the traditional EOFY sale, writes marketing expert Olivia Jenkins.
With the 53-hour shopathon kicking off at 7 pm AEST on Tuesday, 24 May and running until midnight Thursday, 26 May, there’s still plenty of time to pull together a last-minute campaign.
Here are my top tips for launching to customers:
1. Encourage your community to sign up for emails and keep their eyes on their inbox
Let your community know that you are participating in a BIG event that will be announced in the coming days and to keep their eyes peeled on their inbox.
This is also a great time to encourage customers to subscribe to your mailing list and keep a watchful eye on their emails in the coming days to be the FIRST to know about the exciting offers.
One strong incentive to encourage your customers to sign up for emails is to offer early access to email subscribers to ensure you maximise sign-ups.
2. Make sure you have a compelling offer that is easy to understand
Don’t make your customers jump through too many hoops with this campaign.
Look to keep your offer nice and simple for the best results, to ensure your offer resonates with a large portion of your customers. Now is not the time to go in with a gift with purchase offer or a low-ball storewide offer.
It is, however, the perfect time to go all-in with a strong storewide offer that will get cut through or a once-in-a-lifetime deal on a limited amount of specific products.
3. Generate some hype and get your customers excited!
The Click Mayhem sale provides the PERFECT opportunity to create some hype and excitement for your business!
Once you’ve come up with a compelling offer, look to get active on as many touchpoints as possible to communicate how excited you are to be participating in the sale and to create some urgency for when sale day arrives.
Look to add some sales messaging to your website up to a few days ahead of the sale to let customers know there will be an exciting announcement made soon.
4. Consider opening up early access for your VIPs
Reward your most loyal customers by offering them exclusive early access to your sale.
Consider it a “head start” to snap up some of your best deals and beat the rush. Many brands forget to reward email subscribers for remaining loyal on their mailing list and open up to the general public at the same time as the mailing list.
Opening up early access for email subscribers is a great way to incentivise being loyal to your brand and offering some point of difference so customers feel there’s some value in being subscribed to your mailing list!
5. Encourage your customers to get their shopping carts ready and be organised!
Notify your customers of the start day and time for the event so they can jump onto your website and get their shopping carts ready.
That way, when the clock strikes 7 pm AEST, and doors open to the Click Mayhem sale – they can be one of the very first to lock in their order and avoid missing out.
Consider adding countdown timers to the website to add an additional layer of urgency to ensure your customers act fast.
6. Activate your promotional campaign across as many touch points as possible
Remember that integrating your marketing campaign across every touchpoint in the eCommerce ecosystem will help you to supercharge your results.
Look to execute the campaign across website, email marketing, SMS marketing, social media and paid advertising for the best results.
Now is the time to go LOUD with your copywriting and creative to ensure there is cut through when your customer opens their email inbox or gets targeted with one of your ads.
