Happy World Pizza Day: Three of the best pizza joints in Sydney’s inner west
Everybody loves pizza – don’t they? So what better time to spotlight some of my favourite local pizzerias than World Pizza Day. Whether you’re a margarita fan or you’re looking for something a little more exotic, these Sydney inner west pizza places have got you covered.

135 King St, Newtown
A favourite with Newtown locals and visitors alike, this King Street institution serves up some of the best pizza this side of Italy. We guarantee it smells so great and tastes so good you won’t mind if you blister your mouth as you gobble it up straight from the woodfired oven. If you’re a seafood fan do your taste buds a favour and try the clam, you won’t be disappointed!

36 Morley Avenue, Rosebery
If you’ve ever been to Chicago, chances are you’ve had a sausage pizza, it’s beloved by Chi-town residents. And the sausage pizza at Da Mario would definitely make it onto any Chicagoan pizza aficionado’s hit list. Da Mario’s twist sees the spicy Italian sausage mince served up with broccoli rabe for a tasty twist. Want something a little more traditional? You can’t go past the Salamino – oozy mozzarella, ricotta and salami.

379 King Street, Newto
When Newtown pizzeria Gigi’s announced it was going vegan a few years ago, you could hear the locals lamenting from a mile away. Fortunately, the outcry was short lived. Gigi’s has proved pizza is more than cheese. Stop by for a Patate and enjoy the flavours of roasted potato and garlic and black truffle oil – it’s heaven on the tongue.
